It does appear that the pets rest quite well; I wish I slept that well !!
I have had an MRI, and although it was a while back, I believe that I was required to be quite still. If Akiva is in an unfamiliar environment, will he be able to hold still enough to obtain good quality images?

Akiva and Vasco both can hold still like that upon request in pretty extreme conditions / environments. I think it is easier in an environment with fairly constant noise like the MRI than it is in an environment like a park where it may be quite for a extended period then you may have sudden loud noises like a dog barking or cars. They have been able to hold quite still in loud public areas like next to a busy street or in a park with barking dogs. In a MRI, the only distraction really should be the loud noise from the machine.

The new machines like the Phillips open MRI look very nice, they are very large open machines, quieter, use no or large coils, and are designed with large enough area for 2 people to be in the MRI at once, Phillips prints in the literature a photo of a mother and child together in a machine. The new machines are also much faster, and much more tolerant of slight movements. The new 1T open has the clarity of a closed 1.5T MRI.

Akiva has been doing better and we are not looking at needing a MRI at this point. It looks like we are dealing with some type of neuro muscular disease.

I hope you are doing okay.
